Well, today I received an incredible call from one of our newer clients.  Apparently he read our new blog entry and he already thinks that this is definitely something that he wants to do for his site.  He asked me, “can Hotel Traffic Builders create a blog for me?” Of course we can.  We have already created blogs for some of our clients, but for the most part they have not used them properly.   This certainly got me thinking…why don’t they utilize their blogs?  Why don’t they feel compelled to write a few tidbits about what is going on, what’s new, etc.?   Possibly you might just feel a little nervous and self conscious about having your thoughts and ideas out there.   To that I say a resounding, “NONSENSE!”  If you have a blog, please use it and post to it on a consistent basis.  We’ll read it; I promise (remember: if you build it, they will come!). 

Here is something else which might motivate you some more; aside from a blog being fun, it is also a great way to increase your search engine rankings.  Yes, you read that correctly – it is good for your SEO efforts.  Why?  Well, blogs are naturally set-up with an optimized site structure.  They have clear navigation, are linked back to other main pages and for the most part will naturally be well linked.   Of course, we’ll still need to optimize it a bit and also submit it to a blog directory.

In conclusion, effective 2009, Hotel Traffic Builders will start to actively offer blogs as part of our normal service offerings.  If you are interested in setting up a blog or if you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to give us a ring.

I don’t know about you, but I still can’t believe that we are days away from Christmas and weeks away from a New Year!  It has been such an interesting year; I think we all have our stories to share.

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Hotel Traffic Builders blog.  We are very excited to have this fairly new tool which will allow us to communicate our thoughts, ideas and happenings on a consistent basis.

Unless you have been living in a remote village off the coast of Fiji, most of you have heard countless times the word, “blog” – I am sure of this!  However, do you really know what a blog is and how you can use it with your hotel?

Well, a blog really comes from the words: Web Log.  It’s basically an ongoing “log” or journal that is posted to your blog site.  Blogs can contain any sort of information – from technical/how-to info to fun and personal writing.  The choice is entirely up to you.  In your case, a blog can be on-going tidbits about your hotel, new offerings, specials, upcoming events, fishing details, etc. 

For Hotel Traffic Builders, our blog will be a mix of everything!  Check our site for new blog entries or better yet, you can subscribe to our blog if you would like to receive the updates automatically in your inbox.
